, • • JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF NEW BRIGHTON AND MOUNDS VIEW PURPOSE WHEREAS , there exists a common leisure programming need to provide cultural experiences for the residents in the Cities of New Brighton and Mounds View; and WHEREAS , the City of Mounds View currently is operating a successful summer traveling puppet/theatre program; and WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton and the City of Mounds View, through their respective governing bodies , believe there is a need to establish a joint summer traveling puppet/theatre program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, it is agreed between the Parties as follows : EMPLOYING MUNICIPALITY The City of Mounds View hereby agrees to be the employing municipality • for the joint summer traveling puppet/theatre program. The City of Mounds View shall be accountable for the receipt of that portion of puppet/theatre program expenditures (approximately 50%) paid by the City of New Brighton. All existing and future capital expenditures and/or equipment shall be owned by the City of Mounds View and no mutual property shall be acquired as a result of this agreement . SUMMER PUPPET/THEATRE PROGRAM STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY The exact puppet/theatre program staffs duties will be fully defined in a separate job description and task statement is attached as Addendum A. The puppet/theatre program staff shall be responsible to the Program Supervisor in the City of Mounds View. TIME ALLOCATION The puppet/theatre program willperform for a ten (10) week program, P 5 P g , performing 24 shows each week. mhe City of Mounds View will have 12 shows performed weekly and the C ty of New Brighton shall have 12 shows performed weekly. The shows will last approximately 45 minutes including neighborhood touring p.omotion , set-up, show, and departure. The actual program dates , schedules , and locations will be agreed upon by resolution no later than April 1 of each respective year. 1111
