City of Mounds View ,
April 13, 1995
Page Two
5-4/95 Every youngster should be provided with personal protective equipment which may
include, but not be limited to, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, gloves and one of the
various types of can pickers which can help to reduce the exposure to hazards.
If the city is not in a position to comply with all of the aforementioned points, then the city should
highly consider not getting involved with these activities with the scout pack.
To assist the city, I am attaching materials from the Adopt-A-Park Program from the 1992
LMCIT loss control workshop.
The long-term benefits and successes that can be enjoyed by a cooperative, self-insurance
organization depend upon serious and careful consideration of loss control recommendations. In
that context we ask that you keep us informed of the steps you take to address these loss control
recommendations. Therefore, please respond within 60 days of your receipt of this letter
regarding the status of how you intend to respond to these loss control recommendations.
Thank you for your continued efforts in the interest of loss control. We look forward to working .
with you.
Sincerely,
494f, , _ 74,7/4,4_
.v_.
Douglas D. Holm, CSP, MS, CTM
Senior Loss Control Consultant
Berkley Risk Services, Inc.
DDH:b}
c: Ms. Samantha Orduno, Administrator
Ms. Mary Saarion, Park and Recreation Director
City of Mounds View
Maguire Agency
Box 64316
St. Paul, MN 55164
Recommendations and comments are provided for loss control and risk exposure improvement purposes only in
conjunction with the insurance program referenced above. They are not made for the purpose of complying with the
requirements of any law, rule or regulation. We do not infer or imply in the making of these recommendations and 41
comments that all sites were reviewed or that all possible hazards were noted. The final responsibility for conducting loss
control and risk management programs must rest with the insured.
