POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP <br /> POSITION TITLE: Acquatics Director - half time position <br /> 1111 DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br /> ACCOUNTABLE TO: Program Supervisor <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Is to organize, direct, implement, <br /> and coordinate the City ' s acquatics program at both the Edgewood <br /> Community Center pool and Lakeside Park beach. <br /> MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY <br /> 1. Responsible for the supervision, hiring, and evaluation of <br /> all beach and pool personnel including lifeguards, water <br /> safety instructors , maintenance personnel and related <br /> acquatics supervisors . <br /> 2 . Responsible for scheduling the working hours, rotation and <br /> staffing needs of the lifeguards at both the pool and <br /> swimming beach area. <br /> 3 . Assign work duties to assure that they are taken care of in <br /> an efficient and smooth manner to include lifeguarding , <br /> first aid, cleaning and other maintenance as directed. <br /> 4 . Responsible for preparation of all time sheets , Red Cross <br /> • certification cards and other written material as requested <br /> by the Program Supervisor. <br /> 5 . Responsible for the in-house training and supervision of <br /> all lifeguards in the areas of regulations, rules, safety <br /> procedures , use of the equipment and techniques of general <br /> beach and pool control. <br /> 6 . Responsible for working and coordinating with all related <br /> agencies involved with the pooland beach program to include <br /> but not limited to other municipal recreation departments, <br /> Mounds View swimming association and local community, civic <br /> organizations . <br /> 7 . Directs and coordinates the preparation of the year round <br /> swimming program which will be mailed to all school district <br /> residents promoting swimming opportunities available through- <br /> out the city. <br /> 8 . Oversees a variety of public relations activities designed to <br /> make the most effective use available promotional possibilities <br /> through local media, flyers, school announcements , letter <br /> correspondence, etc. and follows through to evaluate, to the <br /> extent possible, the excess of such endeavors. <br /> • <br />
