MEMO TO: Mr. Frank Campbell , Engineering Tech .
FROM: Bruce K. Anderson , Director
Parks , Recreation and Forestry
DATE: October 14, 1982
RE,. Park dedication ordinance
After reviewing a number of communities ' local ordinances regarding their
park dedication ordinance, I would recommend that we modify our current
city code to reflect the following figures and statements :
Density Maximum Dedication Per
Acre as a % of Fair Market
Value of Undeveloped Land
0 Dwelling units/acre 3%
2.1 Dwelling units/acre 4%
3.1 Dwelling units/acre 5%
4.1 Dwelling units/acre 6%
5.1 or more Dwelling units/acre 10%
• In addition to the aforementioned density table, staff would recommend the
following paragraph be added:
1 . The subdivider in any parcel of land zoned single family residential ,
which has located thereon one ( 1 ) single family dwelling , and to sub-
divide said parcel into additional lots , should receive a credit for
the existing single family dwelling unit be excluding the acreage of
the occupied parcel , remaining after subdivision , from the computation
of density and apply the provisions of Chapter 42 subdivision 13.
Staff would concur with the remaining verbage in Chapter 42.13. It should be
noted that at this time, the revised proposal has not been presented to the
Park Commission which staff would recommend happen at the regularly scheduled
meeting on October 28, 1982. Should you have any questions regarding staff's
recommendation on this issue, feel free to contact myself directly at extension
#41.
BKA/sll
•
