-2-
senior citizens swim, volleyball matches , department display, ice cream •
social , and community dance. The opening week was extremely successful
and we look forward to continued use of the Edgewood facilities during
the evening hours as well as daytime.
4. City Newsletter - The October/November City Newsletter was delivered on
September 10th and 11th by local Boy Scout Troop No. 400. This was the
first time that the City had used the local Troop and it appears that
the delivery of the City Newsletter went extremely smooth under their
direction. At this time the City Council is reviewing the delivery
system provided by the Boy Scout Troop and will be making a decision
as to who will deliver the City Newsletter for future issues shortly.
5. 1983 Budget Proposal - The City Council is currently reviewing the budget
submitted by staff and will be making a final recommendation during the
final three weeks regarding the status of the budget. Staff has included
a printout of the proposed 1983 Park and Recreation Budget as it has •
been proposed to the City Council at this time. The only two modifications
that staff is aware of that will be made in addition to the budget would
be an additional $2 ,000.00 added for chemical treatment for the Silver
View Park site and, secondly, a reduction in the building rental for
winter warming house facilities as we are proposing to purchase an
additional three buildings.
BKA/pf
Attachment
b r
