-2- the first being a corten rigid span bridge in 4111 the price range of $12 , 000 - $14 ,000 per bridge . The second option was to work with the Twin City Tree Trust in constructing pole bridges in the amount of $4 ,000 - $6 ,000 . Staff indicated that the major problem with the corten bridges was the need for extensive footings and possibly piling which could be extremely expensive from an installation perspective . After reviewing the facts as presented , the Commission directed staff to go with the less expensive bridges to be constructed with the Twin City Tree Trust , with the additional dollars used for possible park projects. Staff indicated that there were four options for additional park construction projects which were as follows : 1 . Completing the second trail loop at a distance of approximately 2 ,600 linear feet. 2 . Installing four lit horseshoe courts. 3 . Purchasing additional site amenities, 1111 i .e . benches , trash recepticles and drinking fountain . 4. Security lighting by the baseball back- stop, parking lot and tennis court area. 5 . Construction of two bird observation towers. The Commission directed staff to develop additional research on each of the items so a formal recommendation can be made at the May Commission meeting . Following the review of additional projects , it was the general con- census of the Commission to proceed with other projects and to spend the dollars at Greenfield Park rather than return the grant monies to the State . Staff also indicated that formal approval had been granted from the Rice Creek Watershed District pending a hold harmless agreement from the City Attorney and that approval would have to be granted for the construction of two bridges which staff is in the process 1111 of securing .
