MEMO TO: Mounds View Parks a 'ecreation Commission
111
FROM: Bruce K. Anderoi1 i;ir ctor
Parks, Recreat o', 4, •restry
DATE: April 24 , 1985
RE: Review Ordinance 52.03
Enclosed is a rough draft of an ordinance replacing Chapter 52.03
Intoxicating Beverages in the Parks. Staff will be forwarding
this issue to the Mounds View City Council at their May 6 agenda
session and I would appreciate any input that you have on this
item prior to submittal .
The ordinance as drafted by staff is similar to the ordinance in
the City of Richfield and outlines a number of criteria a commun-
ity organization must meet prior to a formal approval being
granted by the City Council .
In addition to the ordinance as drafted for requiring a permit
for the sale of beer within the City Parks, staff is proposing
that we would repeal ordinance 52. 03 which would allow consump-
tion of beer in the neighborhood parks and community parks.
Should you have any questions regarding this item or request
additional staff background , feel free to contact myself direct-
ly at 784-3055 , ext. #20 .
BKA/sll
Enclosure
