-2- The cost to the City for the position would be the same or less 4111 by entering into a joint powers agreement with the City of New Brighton than we paid in 1984 due to the sharing of costs ( see addendum B) . The proposed timeline for the position is to receive approval from the City Council to advertise for the position on Monday, March 10 and to accept applications through March 21 . Formal interviews would be the week of March 24 , 1986 and hopefully we would hire an individual by mid-April to begin planning for the 1986 summer season . Staff is considering developing a one year contract for the posi- tion so we can evaluate the program to determine if a full-time position is needed and/or how the position needs to be struc- tured. Two possibilities that have been discussed are working 30 hours for eight months, September 1 - May 1 and then working 50 hours per week during the summer season , May - August. A second possibility is to expand our existing healthy lifestyle program offerings that• were offered in 1984 . At this time staff feels1111 there will be more than enough work for the position with the opening of Long Lake Regional Park.
