GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SOCCER PARTNERS PROGRAM • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • Eligible soccer partners include cities, townships and school districts within Ramsey County. <br /> • Land to be acquired or developed under the Soccer Partners Program must be in public <br /> ownership (fee title or long-term lease to a public entity). <br /> • Initial priority will be given to proposals resulting in a complex of two or more youth soccer <br /> fields. <br /> • Acquisition and development of new fields or conversion of other athletic fields to dedicated <br /> soccer fields will be given priority consideration for funding. <br /> • Soccer facilities funded under the Soccer Partners Program must be maintained and operated <br /> primarily as soccer fields for a minimum of 20 years from the date of grant award. <br /> • Local units of government awarded Soccer Partners Grants must agree to pay the full cost of <br /> ongoing operations and maintenance of the soccer facilities funded under this program. <br /> • Soccer facilities funded under the Soccer Partners Program must be available for use by <br /> Ramsey County youth regardless of race, gender, economic background or national origin. <br /> Operational programming should encourage broad participation by Ramsey County youth. <br /> LAND ACQUISITION GRANTS <br /> Partnership grants up to 50% of the local share of land acquisition may be awarded for soccer <br /> facilities (maximum County share $500,000 per site). <br /> Special Conditions <br /> • Public entity must have site plan and financing plan for development at the time of grant award. <br /> • Soccer field acquisition funded under this program must be available for public use within 3 <br /> years of land acquisition partnership grant award. <br /> DEVELOPMENT GRANTS <br /> Category 1 (large grants) <br /> Partnership grants up to 50% of the local share for development of community soccer fields and <br /> facilities, e.g. irrigation system, lighting, parking lots, (maximum County share $50,000 per field). <br /> Category 2 (small grants) <br /> Partnership grants up to 50% of the local share for development of neighborhood soccer fields <br /> (maximum County share $15,000 per field). <br /> Special Conditions <br /> • Soccer field development funded under this program must be available for public use within 2 <br /> years of the partnership grant award. <br /> 2 <br />
