MEETING MINUTES OF THE <br /> REGIONAL SENIOR COMMUNITY CENTER TASK FORCE <br /> July 8, 1992 • <br /> Fridley City Hall <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:16 p.m. <br /> MINUTES: The minutes of June 30, 1992 were approved by consensus <br /> including a date correction. <br /> DISCUSSION WITH <br /> JIM O'BRIEN: Architect Jim O'Brien was present at the meeting to discuss <br /> the project. Mr. O'Brien reported that the initial spacial <br /> ideas that the Task Force had predicted were good, however <br /> adjustments for mechanical areas and the need for larger <br /> bathrooms and code considerations would need to be <br /> incorporated in the plan. <br /> The cost estimate that the Task Force had predicted was also <br /> realistic, in ballpark figures. • <br /> Mr. O'Brien had a few specific questions to be answered in <br /> order for the plans to be complete. One question was the <br /> type of kitchen. Clarification was requested regarding a <br /> serving catering kitchen or a preparation kitchen - - full <br /> service or catering kitchen? After some discussion it was <br /> concluded that the Focus Groups would provide the <br /> information needed regarding facilities for the appropriate <br /> congregate dining needs and other programs to be included in <br /> the RSCC. <br /> Focus Groups - The discussion then turned to the Focus <br /> Groups. Concern was expressed that Senior Citizens would <br /> be included in the Focus Groups. The Task Force was <br /> assured that Seniors were included in the Focus Groups as <br /> well as professionals in the field of Senior Citizen Services <br /> such as congregate dining, transportation, programming <br /> funding groups, etc. <br /> Walking Track - - Mr. O'Brien asked about the walking, <br /> stage, basement and other options. Through discussion it was <br /> suggested that Mr. O'Brien provide a cost analysis for each of . <br />
