Mounds View City Council �:egular Meeting Page Eleven June 14, 1993 G. �� � �' MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to Approve the Use of the 1993 Park Improvement Fund Budget Monies for Paving Hillview Park Hockey Rink and the Development of City hall Youth Athletic Field VOTE• 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried Mike Ulrich, Public Works Supervisor, stated that four bids were received on June 9, 1993 for the water treatment plan revisions. New Mech was the low bidder. References were checked and there is no reason to deny the bid, however, staff wanted to delay the award until the June 28, 1993 meeting to make sure that the quantities and quality of materials is correct. The Council concurred in delaying the Bid Award for Revisions to Water Treatment Plants 2 and 3 to the June 28, 1993 Council Meeting. Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reviewed Resolution No. 4375 Accepting the Resignation of Councilmember Patricia Rickaby and Declaring the Schedule for a Special Election as Pr.escribed by the City Charter. Orduno noted that Councilmember Rickaby stated that her Council Legal Name is Pat Rickaby and that the resolution will be changed to reflect the correct name. Orduno reported that Councilmember Pat Rickaby submitted her letter of resignation on June 7, 1993, effective July 1, 1993. Councilmember Rickaby is moving out of the City of Mounds View and therefore must relinquish her seat on the Council. As per City Charter, a resolution formally accepting her resignation must be approved by the Council. The vacancy created must be filled by a special election. Mayor Linke asked Samantha Orduno to read the schedule for the Special Election. Orduno read the resolution regarding the schedule for the upcoming election from Resolution No. 4375 which states that the Special Election would be held August 24, notification would be placed in the City's official newspaper, candidacy filing would open June 22, 1993 and close July 13, 1994, polling place would be Bel-Rae Ballroom and that the polls would be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for voters to cast their ballots. MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to Adopt Resolution No. 4375 Accepting the Resignation of Councilmember Pat Rickaby and DecZaring the Schedule for a Special Election as Prescribed by the City Charter VOTE:: 4 ayes 0 nays 1 Abstention Motion Carried Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reviewed Staff Report No. 93-535C regarding the Authorization of a Golf Course Development Expenditure.
