�ounds View City Council Page Twelve <br />egular Meeting June 14, 1993 <br />u <br />� <br />Orduno reported that Garret Gil, golf course architect, had requested <br />the purchase of updated area maps for the proposed golf course site. <br />The current maps are 1988 photo technology which are topographicals <br />over serials and are grossly inaccurate for the kind of wetland <br />delineation that must be made for the driving range. Orduno further <br />reported that in order for the preliminary plans for the course and the <br />driving range to be as accurate as possible to assure that the wetland <br />delineations are respected, it is important that the architect secure <br />the updated maps. The estimated costs is between $1,500 and $2,000. <br />MOTIONf SECOND: Blanchard/Linke to approve an expenditure not to exceed <br />$2,000 from the Golf Course Development Fund (698-4120-303) for the <br />purchase of updated maps of the proposed golf course and driving range <br />site. � <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion carried. <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, asked if there were concerns <br />regarding a mailing to the residents of the community regardinq the <br />upcoming Special Election. <br />Mayor Linke explained that the discussion evolved around how the <br />Council could receive the most input from the residents regarding the <br />Senior Center. <br />Mr. McCarty stated that every resident should receive notice of �he <br />upcoming Special Election. <br />Mayor Linke stated <br />placing questions <br />everyone. <br />Mr. McGarty asked <br />mailing be done to <br />upcoming election. <br />that the Charter Commission is presently looking at <br />on the ballot and then a mailing wou�d be sent to <br />the Mayor if he would guarantee that a special <br />every household in Mounds View regardinq the <br />Mayor Linke stated that if the Council vacancy is the only item on the <br />ballot, he could not guarantee that a special mailing would be done. <br />Samantha Orduno stated that a newsletter will be going out in two weeks <br />and the newsletter is mailed to every household. <br />Mr. McCarty stated that, if cost is the issue, he assumed that every <br />resident of the community received a list of phone numbers for various <br />City Hall offices, which are readily available in the telephone book, <br />at a cost of $.29 each. Mr. McCarty stated that if the City can spend <br />money with mailings such as these, it certainly can send notification <br />to all residents of the upcoming special election and not bury the <br />election in the City newsletter. <br />
