Mounds View City Council Page Eight <br />~egular Meeting May 24, 1993 <br />November General Election for Legislative District 52B. Blanchard <br />stated that there had been reports and rumors that the City of <br />Mounds View had rejected a large amount of absentee ballots, 300 <br />or more. Blanchard reported that this report indicated that all <br />absentee ballots in question were properly rejected by the <br />election judges n the manner provided by law. The actual total <br />number of absentee ballots rejected was 41. Councilmember <br />Blanchard commended the election judges for a job well done and <br />hoped that this report eased a lot of tension that had been felt <br />by the judges. (copy of report is attached to these minutes) <br />uick - No report <br />Wuori: <br />a. Councilmember Wuori reported that the Garden Club planted the <br />flowers at City Hall on Saturday, Mother Nature provide the <br />necessary rain and now it is hoped that there will be sunshine <br />in order for them to grow and be beautiful in time for the <br />City's .Festival. Councilmember Wuori extended a "thank you" <br />to the Garden Club for their work. <br />• Rickabv - No report <br />Report of Mayor• <br />Mayor Linke supported the information Councilmember Wuori gave with <br />respect to the Garden Club and the plantings at City Hall. <br />Report of Administrator <br />a. Samantha Orduno reported that she had accepted Ric Minetor's <br />(Director of Public Works) resignation pending Council's <br />acceptance today, May 24, 1993. Ric is seeking other professional <br />and educational opportunities. Orduno asked Council to accept Mr. <br />Minetor's resignation and provide him with a moderate severance <br />package which would consist of all accrued vacation leave, as per <br />City Code; upon exhaustion of vacation leave, severance pay at the <br />current rate of pay and method of payment until July 30, 1993 and <br />payment of $308 for a previously agreed upon professional training <br />course that was approved in January of this year. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Rickaby/Blanchard to Accept Mr. Ric Minetor's <br />Resignation as Director of Public Works/City Engineer with the <br />City of Mounds View and to Provide a Modest Severance Package <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />b. Orduno also reported that a Golf Course Task Force Meeting was <br />held Wednesday, May 19, which involved a tour of the <br />
