MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to adopt Resolution No. 4083 Authorizing the Purchase of Water Treatment Plant Controls from a Sole Source 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried REPORT OF COUNCILMEMBER5: Councilmember Wuori reported that auditions for "My Fair Lady" would be held Saturday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3 at 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. at Irondale High School. Councilmember Wuori requested that this information be posted on the City Billboard as well as on the Cable TV Channel. • Councilmember Wuori also mentioned that flyers were sent out to all high schools and middle schools in the school district. Councilmember Ouick - no report. Councilmember Blanchard reported that she had received five letters from residents on Groveland Road who are reporting excessive speed and increased traffic on that road. Councilmember Blanchard stated there are many children on the road and the residents are concerned about their safety. They are requesting that something be done about this problem. Councilmember Blanchard would like this put on the Work Session Agenda. Councilmember Wuori added that she also had been lobbied at Pinewood School about this problem. She stated that residents are complaining about a garbage hauler driving at excessive speed and is using Groveland Road as a main route through the City of Mounds View. Councilmember Quick asked if any of these persons had contacted the Police Department or if anyone had gotten a name. The garbage hauler was thought to be Waste Management of Blaine. Public Works Director/City Engineer Ric Minetor will contact the company in question regarding the hauling of garbage and the City's regulations for haulers. C7
