Resolution 8016, Approving a Contract with Ramsey County for Election <br />Services. <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane explained in August of last year the City approved a one-year <br />contract with Ramsey County to assist the City in providing election services. She indicated the <br />ballot counting machines were aging and were projected to be replaced in 2013 or 2014. She <br />commented the City can terminate the contract by following the necessary provisions. Staff <br />recommended the Council renew the Ramsey County contract for the years 2013 through 2016. <br />Council Member Hull questioned how many ballot counting machines would need to be <br />replaced. Assistant City Administrator Crane indicated the City had four ballot counting <br />machines, one for each precinct. <br />Finance Director Beer asked if Staff had any price estimates for replacing these units. Assistant <br />City Administrator Crane explained the prices ranged from $10,000-20,000. She commented the <br />City may have a Federal grant opportunity to assist with this future expense. <br />Council Member Hull inquired if this expense was budgeted for 2013. Finance Director Beer <br />stated this was not budgeted. <br />Acting Mayor Mueller questioned which fund would be used for this expense. Finance Director <br />Beer noted this would be a General Fund expense. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8016, <br />Approving a Contract with Ramsey County for Election Services for 2013 through 2016. <br />Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />D. Resolution 8017, Authorizing a Longevity Increase for Officer Jeremy <br />Hellpap. <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated Officer Hellpap was an employee of the Mounds View <br />Police Department and his supervisor, Police Chief Kinney has reviewed his performance, and <br />found it to be satisfactory. For this reason, Officer Hellpap was due a longevity increase per the <br />labor agreement. Staff recommends approval of the wage adjustment for Officer Jeremy Hellpap <br />effective November 22, 2012. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Resolution 8017, Authorizing a <br />Longevity Increase for Officer Jeremy Hellpap. <br />
