Mounds View City Council February 24, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 14
Interim City Administrator Ericson informed Council that the three remaining age discrimination
lawsuits were dismissed by the Department of Human Rights finding that there was no evidence
of discrimination.
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he met with Mr. Chisholm and asked if Council
wished to discuss payment for golf lessons.
Mayor Linke asked that the information be brought to the work session for discussion.
Mayor Linke asked that Resolution 5555 be added to the work session agenda.
Council Member Stigney asked for a ruling on the proper use of tabling.
City Attorney Riggs indicated that both parties were partially right and the reality is that they are
one in the same.
Council Member Stigney indicated it is important because tabling does not allow for discussion.
Interim City Administrator Ericson reminded Council and residents that the North Metro Home
and Garden Show is scheduled for March 1, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Council Member Stigney asked if there had been any information on the Hammerschmidt appeal.
City Attorney Riggs indicated that Mr. Hammerschmidt is attempting to appeal and there was
contact from the Department to his office and that is something that Council will need to discuss
but not tonight.
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that the first meeting of the YMCA Advisory
Committee is scheduled for March 3, 2003 at 5:00 p.m.
Mayor Linke asked Staff to post that meeting as there may be a quorum of Council Members in
attendance.
Interim City Administrator Ericson informed Council he had posted the whole agenda packet to
the website as it is a good way to get the information to the public. He then said the meetings are
being broadcast on the Internet.
Council Member Marty indicated he had thought the City had to pay extra for that.
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that the City would have had to pay for book
marking that would have allowed residents to skip to the part of the meeting they were interested
in rather than watching the whole meeting. He then said that he has not yet been able to view the
meetings over the Internet but would work with CTV on it.
