Mounds View City Council July 28, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br />• 1 Council Member Marty asked whether it would be possible to meander the sidewalk a bit to <br />2 accommodate as many things as possible. <br />3 <br />4 Public Works Director Lee indicated that he has given direction to the City Engineer to work <br />5 with the Forester to see if there are trees to be saved. <br />6 <br />7 Ayes - 4 Nays - 1(Stigney) Motion carried. <br />8 <br />9 10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />10 <br />11 A. City Council Minutes July 14, 2003 <br />12 <br />13 To be approved on August 11, 2003. <br />14 <br />15 11. REPORTS <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Linke welcomed Kurt Ulrich as the City's new Administrator. <br />18 <br />19 Council Member Gunn indicated that Festival in the Park is scheduled for August 16, 2003 and <br />20 provide a few details on the events planned along with welcoming all residents to come and play <br />1 golf in the golf tournament and attend the pancake breakfast. <br />2 <br />23 Council Member Stigney had no report. <br />24 <br />25 Council Member Marty indicated the golf tournament is on Saturday, August 16, 2003 and the <br />26 cost is $110 for a foursome and that includes golf, food and two beverages. He then said that <br />27 they have received lots of donations and kid prizes and welcomed all residents to come out and <br />28 play. <br />29 <br />30 Council Member Marty welcomed Kurt Ulrich. He then asked if it would be possible to use the <br />31 Council reserved parking signs to ensure Council Members have a space in the parking lot as he <br />32 arrived late and had to park across the street. <br />33 <br />34 Community Development Director Ericson indicated that practice stopped when the City ceased <br />35 having a custodian but said Staff could attempt to remember to do so. <br />36 <br />37 Council Member Quick indicated that he did not care to have Staff members pulled away from a <br />38 task that is more necessary to put out parking signs. <br />39 <br />4o Council Member Quick indicated that Council should thank Mr. Ericson for a job well done. He <br />41 then said he would like to ask that the Mayor prepare a letter of commendation for his file. He <br />42 further indicated that he would like Mr. Ericson to provide Council with a list of names of any <br />3 other Staff members that should be recognized for their efforts in assisting with additional work <br />~4 while the City was short staffed. <br />45 <br />
