Resolution 6520 Approving the Sufficiency of Petition of the opposition of the <br />2005 Street Improvement Project. <br />• Ci Administrator Ulrich stated that Resolution 6520 ado is the sufficienc of the etition. He <br />~' p Y p <br />stated that when they reviewed the Charter the item to be assessed was the street improvement <br />project. He stated that they found that the signatures on the list were valid noting that one <br />signature could not be validated due to the fact that they are new property owners. He stated that <br />the have the number of households required for the petition and to Staff's knowledge there are no <br />such petitions circulating at this time. He explained that the time period referred to is the 60-day <br />period and it runs to May 14, 2005. He stated that with respect to Spring Creek Pond, the storm <br />improvements are not funded by special assessments but by stormwater fees. He stated that Staff <br />is opposed to this due to the broad opposition of the petition. He stated that the Spring Creek <br />Pond project would come back for a separate public hearing and could be reviewed at that time. <br />He recommended that City Council move to adopt Resolution 6520, Approving the Sufficiency <br />of Petition. <br />Mr. Amundsen has agreed to assist and Staff will review what should be done to move forward <br />with the process. <br />Valerie Amundsen, 3048 Wooddale Drive, confirmed that the petition for the Spring Lake Pond <br />is not binding, as it is not being accessed. She clarified that she and Mr. Amundsen are <br />representing 96 residents from their neighborhood and noted that all of signed the petition stating <br />that they do not want this pond in their neighborhood. She requested that Staff issue afollow-up <br />• letter to the residents updating them on the status of the petition and to let them know that the <br />petition was sufficient. She stated that people are asking how it went noting that not everyone is <br />
