Gunn/Thomas. To Approve Resolution 6567 Appointing Peter Berling to <br />the Position of Police Officer. <br />Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. <br />F. Consider Resolution 6582, Appointing Mark Beer as the Finance <br />Director/Treasurer. <br />Director Ericson stated that there is an offer on the table to Mr. Mark Beer. He stated that the <br />offer is consistent with what the City Council had discussed and is available for review and <br />approval by the Council. <br />Council Member Flaherty noted that offer allows Mr. Beer to accrue his vacation at a rate of <br />three weeks annually and clarified that typically a new hire would receive two weeks of vacation <br />and that the reason Mr. Beer is being given this benefit is due to his background and experience <br />within the financial field. He also noted that Mr. Beer would be on vacation from September 8~' <br />through September 18, 2005 and clarified that this would be non-pay. <br />Director Ericson confirmed stating that it is normal procedure to provide an incentive such as <br />. additional vacation when a candidate has extensive experience. He confirmed that Mr. Beer <br />would be approved for anon-pay leave for a previously committed vacation planned for <br />September 8, 2005 through September 18, 2005, subject to his utilization of any applicable leave <br />time he has accumulated to that date. <br />MOTION/SECOND. Stigney/Thomas To approve Resolution 6582, Appointing Mark Beer as <br />the Finance Director/Treasurer for the City of Mounds View, Minnesota. <br />Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. <br />G. Consider Resolution 6572, Approving Appointments to the Northwest Area <br />Library Access Task Force. <br />Director Ericson stated that this is a resolution to appoint of two members to the Northwest Area <br />Library Access Task Force. He explained that there are two open positions, one to be filled by a <br />City Council Member and the other to be filled by a Mounds View Citizen. He stated that Jane <br />Ahlstrom should be included on the Resident List as an additional candidate for the task force. <br />Council Member Flaherty suggested Dorie Lidinski noting that she has the experience working <br />with the North Chamber, Ramsey County and in a library. She stated that she has the most <br />experience out of all of the candidates working with libraries. <br />• Mayor Many stated that all of the candidates are good noting that based on the backgrounds <br />
