Mounds View City Council March 24, 2008
Regular Meeting Page 9
LJ
Council was bold enough but there was no funding available to move forward and purchase the
property.
Ayes - 4 Nays -1(Marty) Motion carried.
9. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS
MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Mueller. To Approve Just and Correct Claims as Presented.
Ayes - 4
•
Nays - 0
Council Member Hull was not present for the vote.
Motion carried.
Council Member Stigney asked about the previous just and correct claim that he had questioned.
Administrator Ericson noted that the claim in question was from the Department of Health for a
fee per meter for each connection in Mounds View.
10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
None.
11. REPORTS
A. Reports of Mayor and Council
Mayor Marty noted that the retreat was last weekend and he felt that it went well. There was one
citizen that attended for the entire retreat both days. He then said that it has been said in the past
that the Staff is telling the Council what to do and that is not the case. During this retreat, the
Staff and Council work together to set goals and the Staff works with Council to make it happen.
He then outlined some of the ways that staff sacrifices and looks for ways to save the City
money. He further said that he is proud of the employees, and morale is good despite the
sacrifices they are asked to make.
Mayor Marty indicated he would like the Finance Director and City Attorney to put together
information on what can be rebated for the past street improvement projects and what cannot,
and why. He then said that he would like a letter mailed to the last street projects that are still
paying if they did not pay up front.
Finance Director Beer indicated that there is a pretty good list of those that will get a rebate and a
letter will go out.
Council Member Mueller requested that recipes for the cookbook be submitted by April 15,
2008. She then noted that there is a meeting on April 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. on the Blaine Airport
expansion.
