The 210 hours for special projects has been exceeded
by 109 hours which, unless the contract is amended,
will reduce the remaining 577.5 hours of the 1,040
hours to 468.5 hours which is just adequate to meet
the needs of the low estimate.
b. The conclusion does not take into account normal
administrative activities and unpredictable demands
on his time.
4. Mr. Johnson identifies the following additional special
projects that may or should occur in 1983.
a. Tower and Ground Reservoir Inspection
b. Analysis of Storage Needs
c. Fleet Maintenance Needs
d. Well Motor Control Improvements
e. Well No. 3 Pilot Plant Study
f. 1984 MSA Project
Of these items, a majority of the work (bid specs) on items a,
d, and a could be turned over to TRDA who would likely be
able to accomplish the task at the same or less cost because
they would need to spend less time preparing the material.
Items b and c could be assigned to other City staff members
with a minimum of oversight being required. Item f should be
handled in the same manner as the 1983 Water and Sewer System
Maintenance and Capital Improvement Program which means
mainly staff work.
5. Mr. Johnson recommends the amendment of his contract to add
755 hours to the 210 hours for special projects with 109 of
those 755 hours already having been spent. This would mean
an additional $16,987.50 to Mr. Johnson's contract of $28,125
•
•
