Anderson, Dir <br />Parks, Recreation and <br />DATE: October 21, 1982 <br />RE: Resolution No. 1506 <br />Regarding the winter skating program at Groveland Park <br />Enclosed is a copy of Resolution No. 1506 which outlines the City <br />Council's position regarding the use of volunteer leadership for <br />the winter skating program at Groveland Park. As can be noted, <br />staff is proposing that we do not directly deliver a check to the <br />Groveland Park Foundation but rather we establish a separate fund <br />which would be dedicated to park improvement projects at Groveland <br />Park. <br />In addition, the resolution states that the City Council endorses <br />the concept of residential involvement at their local neighborhood <br />park but stresses that point that the local park system is for <br />all Mounds View residents to enjoy. <br />As I have briefly discussed this issue with one of the representatives <br />from the Groveland Park Foundation and they do not envision any major <br />problems with this type of arrangement.
