Mr. Braun
Page 2
March 7, 1983
It is our understanding that recently the New 10 project from
County Road d uurLh Lo Trunk ILLghway LU has moved ahead in the
process. We undar::tand that. Hie right: of way map has been signed
which allows acquisition of key pieces of right of way for that
proposed project but that a funding source has not been officially
committed. We, therefore, wish to go on record requesting the
Commissioner of. Transportation to give the highest priority to
obtaining the necessary federal funding and stale matching monies
to complete New Highway 10 from County lioad J to Highway 65. The
City is very concerned that some provisions be made to complete
the connection of the New 10 alignment to the proposed 6 10 project
that is currently underway and includes a new bridge crossing the
Mississippi River. It is our understanding that this proposed
project will terminate on Trunk Highway 47 near the intersection
of University Avenue and existing Highway 10. Once again, we would
strongly suggest consideration be given to completing the link
between the terminus of 6 10 and the proposed terminus of Trunk
Highway 10 and Ilighway 65. This will complete a very vital link
within the transportation system in the northern suburbs and hope-
fully dramatically improve the traffic noise problems and safety
problems the citizens of ?founds View are experiencing. We look
forward to your reply as to when and how these projects will procee-.
Sincerely,
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
Duane W.
