MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Director of Public Works/Community Development <br />DATE•.: December 15, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: STATUS REPORT ON PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS <br />Mr. Pauley and myself have met and discussed the status of the <br />various projects listed below. The following is a brief <br />summary of those projects and what their status will be as of <br />the end of December, 1983, and the period covered by the contract <br />with myself: <br />1. General Fund Items - This section of the contract is <br />on target and shall have sufficient hours to cover <br />the work through the end of 1983. <br />2. Sewer and Water Fund Items - These projects should <br />have enough hours left in 1983 to cover the work <br />necessary. <br />3. Developer Reviews - At the end of June it was estimated <br />that another 70 hours would be sufficient to cover <br />review of developer applications. As of the end of <br />November, all 70 hours had been utilized but did not <br />cover the hours necessary to complete the reviews of <br />the Burger King application. <br />r F <br />4. M.S.A. Resurfacing, Planning and Coordivatior, �- <br />the end of November, there was a balance of 24' hours <br />available in the proposed 1983 resurfacing program. <br />These hours will not be utilized in full depending upon <br />the outcome of the meeting on December 19th with Elmer <br />Morris and the direction the Council wishes to give <br />staff at that time. <br />5. Street Maintenance Plan - The 1983 Scal Coat Repair <br />Project has been completed and the Comprehensive Street <br />Maintenance Plan will be completed by the end of 1983 <br />with the report being delivered to the City Council for <br />review and consideration early in 1984. <br />6. Water Department Special Projects - Repair work on <br />Well No. 6, the Systems Needs Study, Treatment Plant <br />Nos. 2 and 3 modifcations, atomerator No. 1 repair and <br />miscellaneous water break repair has been completed. <br />The Tower No. 2 inspection and ground reservoir inspection <br />will be completed by the end of the year. Pilot plant <br />studies for Well No. 3 and the electrical control study <br />work underway will not be completed until 1984. <br />
