MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council
PROM: Clerk-Administrato
DATE: February 17, 1989 4
SUBJECT:, RAMSEY COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT 1984-1989 CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
J
Attached to this memorandum please find a copy of Ramsey County's
proposed 1984-1989 Capital Improvements Program. You will note
that this program contains the following activities that will
occur within the boundaries of the City of Mounds View: {
1000'0e n-----'--
. Cvu„ty nuau J reconstruction west or
therCounty line to 35W.
1987-89 Projects: County Road I reconstruction from
Highway 10 to 3511.
Non -Programmed Projects: County Road H-2 reconstruction
west of the County line to Silver Lake Road. Old Highway 8
reconstruction,New Brighton municipal limits to County Road H.
Silver Lake Road signals at H, H-2, and I.
I have been advised by County Engineer Ken Weltzin that the non
programmed items are listed should funds be available, however,
he does not feel funding will be available for these items and
they will more than likely not be accomplished during the next
five years. I will be corresponding with those cities that we
have been meeting with in the recent past to attempt to encourage
Ramsey County and Anoka County to undertake improvements to
County Road J,to advise them of the intended Capital Improvement
Program calling for the improvement of County Road J from the
west County Road limits to Rice Creek. As this group has yet to
meet with representatives of Anoka and Ramsey Counties, I would
hope that this information would be helpful during our discussions.
At this time staff has no comments with respect to this program
and would submit that should the County accomplish the programmed
projects during the next five years we will have accomplished a
great deal.
DFP/pf
Attachment
