P.1I WA SOT A 2401 HMIMAY 10 M0UNDSV16V,V,NN 55112 ,N47055 I have been advised by Public Works Foreman Gary Kardell that he has attempted to contact you by phone and stopping at both your mother's and former wife's homes over the last several days and has written you notes advising you that due to the drastic change in weather and our inability to maintain hockey rink ice, the City has cancelled your evening shift hours and instructed you to report to work during the day shift which is the normal hours for Public Works personnel. I have also been advised by Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Bruce Anderson that he is aware that it is your intention not to report to the day shift until next Tuesday, �.. February 21st, and you have not offered either himself or Mr. Karde" an explanation for your independent determination that you will not abide by our instructions to commence working on the day shift immediately. in view of what would appear to be your insubordinate actions in refusing to follow proper directive, I would ask that you meet with me in my office at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17th. Should this time be inconvenient for you, you may contact me and make arrange- ments for another time on that same date for us to meet. Pursuant to State law and labor contract requirements, be advised that the results of this meeting could possibly result in disciplinary action and, therefore, you have the r`_ght to have a union repre- sentative present with you. I will expect you to either appear at the time requested or contact me and make arrangements for a meeting at a different time on Friday, February 17th.
