NO. 84103 <br />Attention: Mr. Steve Thatcher, <br />Director of Public Works/Community Development <br />Enclosed are preliminary grading and landscaping plans for the <br />berm proposed between the residential properties on the north <br />side of County Road H-2 and the proposed industrial land south <br />of County Road H-2 in the proposed Pinecrest Park Industrial <br />Development, You will note that the height of the earth portion <br />of the berm is proposed to be constructed to the eye height of a <br />person standing in any of the homes on the north side of County <br />Road H-2 west of Raymond Avenue. The 3:1 side slopes can be <br />varied to 2:1 in certain locations during final design to add <br />interest. A combination of deciduous and evergreen trees and <br />shrubs would further screen the view above that elevation should <br />an industrial building be constructed fairly close to County <br />Road H-2. We believe that the berming and landscaping proposed <br />is in excess of that required by city code. <br />You will also note that there is no berming or landscaping <br />proposed east of Raymond Avenue at this time. A duplex at the <br />northeast corner of Raymond Avenue and County Road H-2 has no <br />windows on the south side. The mobile home park east of the <br />duplex has its own screen fence of an adequate height to shield <br />it from the proposed industrial development. You will, of <br />course, be able to require appropriate landscaping as part of <br />the site plan approval of any industrial use in this corner of <br />the property. <br />Also enclosed are some sketches upon which our landscape <br />architect based his drawings.
