'0 4 -AT <br />-2- <br />In addition to the program increases boi:h financial and usage; we <br />have soon a major quality change in programs due to the increased <br />supervisory time. A review of the past year's program highlights <br />are as follows: <br />1. Combined advertising <br />2. Multi -community in-service training <br />3. Aquatic reference personnel <br />4. Mounds View Swim Club and Northern Shores Masters Swim Team <br />5. Mounds View Diving Club (Madura's Maniacs) <br />6. Specialized aquatic program advertising <br />Staff would propose that the salaries for Ms. Thielen be broken <br />down from the following revenue sources: <br />1. $5,000.00 from Recreation Activity Account - This figure will <br />be recovered through increased program participation fees as <br />was noted in the yearend report. <br />2. $2,000.00 from School District 4621, through a joint powers <br />agreement <br />3. $3,200.00 from the Lakeside Park budget which is a reduction <br />of $300.00 from 1984. <br />Staff will be available at Monday evenings Council Meeting to <br />review the memorandum of understanding as well as the yearend <br />aquatics program report and respond to any additional questions <br />the Council may have regarding the City's aquatics program. <br />Should you require additional information prior to Monday even- <br />ings meeting, feel free to contact myself directly at 784-3055, <br />exc. #41. <br />RECOMMENDATION: To authorize staff to formalize the memorandum <br />of understanding between the City of Mounds View and Ms. Maureen <br />Thielen, outlining the duties of the City's part-time Aquatics <br />Director for 1984-85. <br />BKA/sll <br />Attachment <br />
