r <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND MS. 14AUREEN THIELEN, FOR <br />OUTLINING THE DUTIES OF THE CITIES PART-TIME AQUATIC DIRECTOR <br />r, <br />The following memorandum of understanding is hereby entered into <br />between the City of Mounds View and Ms. Maureen Thielen to per- <br />form and provide the services of a part-time aquatic director <br />which will include but not be limited to the following scope and <br />perameters: <br />THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE PART-TIME AQUATIC DIRECTOR <br />WILL BE TO ORGANIZE, DIRECT, IMPLEMENT AND COORDINATE. <br />THE CITY'S AQUATICS PROGRAM AT BOTH THE EDGEWOOD POOL <br />AND LAKESIDE PARK BEACH WHILE COORDINATING AND INTER- <br />FACING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SURROUNDING MUNICI- <br />PALITIES. <br />The major areas of accountability for Ms. Thielen will be as fol- <br />lows: <br />1. Responsible for the hiring, supervision and evaluation of all <br />beach and pool personnel including lifeguards, water safety <br />instructors, applicable maintenance personnel and related <br />aquatics employees. <br />2. Responsible for scheduling the working hours, rotation and <br />staff needs of all aquatic personnel at both the pool and <br />swimming beach area. This includes assianing work duties to <br />assure that all related waterfront activities are addressed <br />in an efficient and effective manner to include lifeguarding, <br />first aid, maintenance and general pool cleanliness. <br />3. Responsible for preparation of all time sheets, Red Cross <br />certification cards and other written materials as requested <br />by the Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. <br />4. Responsible for establishing and carrying out a quarterly in- <br />house training program for all aquatics persunnel to include <br />but not limited to rules, regulations, safety procedures, use <br />of safety equipment, general pool and beach techniques. <br />5. Responsible for coordinating with related agencies involved <br />with the Edgewood Community Center pool program to include <br />but not limited to municipal recreation departments, USSA <br />swim club, local community groups, civic organizations and <br />local businesses. <br />
