II. SELF LVAiMATION OF CITY PROGRAMS AND SERVICIiS (continued)
A. Physical Access ibi1ty to Public [-acilities (continued)
2. Hillview Park - continued
accessible to handicapped pursons by ramping.
3. Greenfield Park - this park contains a small storage
shelter building and is accessible to the handicapped
although at the present time this facility is not
utilized by the public.
4. Lambert Park - this shelter building is totally
accessible to handicapped through either the garage doors
or the two main entrance doors which are of sufficient
width to allow access by handicapped individuals in
wheelchairs.
5. Woodcrest Park - this shelter building is not presently
accessible to handicapped persons as it has one step
requiring access to the doorway. This shelter building
could be made accessible to the handicapped by ramping.
It should be noted that the Woodcrest Shelter Building is
only used during the winter for warming house purposes in
connection with the ice skating program. Thus, it would
not appear to be necessary to ramp the entrace.
6. Shelter Building Beach House at Lakeside Park - this
facility is totally accessible to the handicapped.
B. Availability of Services and Pro r9 ams To Hanoica
rtllavua
The vast majority of services provided by the City to its
residents are those which are traditionally associated
with municipalities, that is, construction and
maintenance of streets and highways, police and fire
protection services, protective inspections programs,
provision of municipal water and sewer services, and park
construction and maintenance. The only types of services
provided by the City which could conceivably be offered
in such a manner that could be discriminatory to
handicapped persons are administrative services and
recreation programs.
The types of administrative services provided by the City
are:
1. Licensing
2. Voter Registration and Elections
3. Information and Information Referral
