MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 18, 1986
PACE TWO
2. Cont Id
with a $25 penalty at next printing.
1. Modifications need to be made to notice forms and
books to allow greater space for handwritten notes
and to avoid carry-over onto next forms.
1. The past due letter will be revised to post card
form to reduce paper and postage cost and simplify
processing.
5. Pursuant to the recommendation of the City Attorney
all notices remaining unpaid after 6 months will be
dismissed. This action will begin at the end of
February, 1986.
In summary, staff feels that the Administrative Offense Program
has been highly successful in that it has simplified the enforce-
nent of non-movirg traffic violations, provided for a more
effective administration of justice for these types of offenses,
and allowed the City to retain revenues from this activity at
the local level. Staff would strongly support the continuation
and, if possible, expansion of this program.
DFP/mjs
