Park and Recreation Experience <br />NAME: Rathbun Lake <br />Feasibility Study for a Resort Lodge Complex <br />LOCATION/SIZE: Appanoose County Iowa / 850 acres on a 10,000 acre lake <br />CLIENT: Iowa Conservation Commission <br />Iowa Development Commission <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES: Working as a member on a consulting team with Midwest <br />Research Institute, services included site selection, market analysis <br />of present and future leisure/recreation demand, design concepts and <br />cost estimates. Recommendations included proforma projections for <br />the resort lodge complex revenues and operating expenses. imple- <br />mentation and action program recommendations included both the public <br />and private sectors. <br />SPECIAL FEATURES, �' " ! Iowa's ] a, y; w:aai-•iilaue fake. The <br />shoreline is owned and controlled by the Corps of Engineers. The <br />proposed resort lodge complex is the only facility of its type on <br />the lake and is intended to serve as a major leisure/recreation <br />attraction in southeast Iowa.
