Park and Recreation Experience <br />NAME: Big Creek Lake <br />Feasibility Study for Leisure/Recreation Opportunities <br />LOCATION/SIZE: Polk County, Iowa / 3,000 acres (860 acre lake) <br />CLIENT: Iowa Conservation Commission <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES: Working as a member on a consulting team with Midwest <br />Research Institute. services included a market analysis of present <br />and future leisure/recreation demand, and recommended projects to <br />meet these demands. Recommendations included selection criteria, <br />overall design concepts, and proforma data. Implementation and <br />action program recommendations included both the public and private <br />sectors. <br />SPECIAL FEATURES: Unique site characteristics and landscape features were <br />recognized and emphasized in the recommendations. Proximity to <br />the Des Moines metropolitan area ;And central Iowa location were <br />considered in recommendations for projects and improvements. <br />FEE: $12,000 <br />
