First Readies <br />of the proposed ordinance, which updates the 1967 <br />of Ordinance <br />code. <br />No. 459 <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Blanchard to approve the <br />first reading of Ordinance No. 459, amending the <br />Municipal Code of :sounds View by amending Chapter <br />2 entitled "Council", and waive the reading. <br />4 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />ayes <br />Attorney Karney advised it was not necessary to <br />refer to the 1967 code in this ordinance, as the <br />Council would actually have to repeal the 1967 <br />ordinance. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated Kim Herman would <br />20. Quarterly <br />1988. Serious crime showed a 18 increase over 1987, <br />Department Head <br />while less serious crime showed a 10% decrease. <br />Reports <br />Police Chief Ramacher reported t::e Police Department <br />had received a check for $350 from Super America, for <br />the second year in a row, to purchase a bullet proof <br />vest and he extended his thanks. <br />Mayor Hankner stated a letter of thanks would be sent <br />LLMY the Vi ll' <br />Finance Director Brager •.,as not present, and he will <br />give his report at the next Council meeting. <br />Public Works Director Minetor reviewed the building <br />;7un"J'ary as well as building <br />permit valuations by type, and the five year water <br />usage. He reviewed the activities of the street, <br />water and sewer departments, and reported work is <br />on schedule. In response to an inquiry by Council — <br />member Wuori, he stated the workers are required to <br />wear an orange vest anytime they are working in the <br />street, and he would check into a worker not wearing <br />one earlier in the day. <br />
