-7- <br />® finally, once the number of sites for a specific facility has <br />been reduced to one or two following the process suggested in <br />this document, an architect should be employed to critique the <br />site or sites. An architect could provide additional information <br />regarding the suitability of a site and provide an estimate of <br />site development costs including utilities, it may be necessary <br />to provide an additional analysis of soil composition and <br />topography. Relevant zoning and building codes would have to be <br />explored. An architect could also focus .attention on the <br />advantages and disadvantages of a specific site and elaborate <br />on the visual impact on the neighborhood. <br />The final selection of a site should be delayed until the <br />analysis of an architect is completed. <br />Also, it is desirable to nave all details of a building <br />program accepted and understood by the Library Board and <br />architect before a site is deeded to the County. <br />If the process and criteria included in this document are followed, <br />the location of public libraries will benefit the greatest number <br />of people in suburban Ramsey County. <br />NV/lap <br />10-1-85 <br />Approved by the Library Board <br />10-21-85 <br />11 <br />
