POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP <br />(Mounds View) <br />Position Accountant <br />Date: December, 1987 <br />Department: Finance <br />Accountable Finance Director <br />Primary Objective of Position <br />To follow established accounting principles in preparing accurate <br />and up-to-date financial data for review and analysis by the <br />Finance Director and/or City Council <br />To perform a variety of general accounting duties as assigned and <br />er <br />maintainsison with <br />to ensure <br />Major Areas of Accounta� <br />Prepares workpapers, trial balances, audit schedules, closing <br />journal entries, and obtains other information necessary in <br />the preparation of the annual financial statements; assists <br />outside accountants in performance of annual audit <br />Ensures that bank deposits are made; participates in daily <br />cash planning <br />for all assigned <br />Accumulates and maintains accurate records <br />City accounts <br />Prepares routine and special financial statements each month <br />or as required for review and inforr.,aticn of the Finance <br />Director and/or Council <br />Prepares all accounts payable according to established <br />procedures to ensure the timely and accurate payment for all <br />services provided to the City, resolving discrepancies when <br />necessary <br />Processes all accounts receivable to ensure the proper <br />account is duly credited <br />Supervises the preparation of regular payroll and corresponding <br />reports consistent with established procedures to ensure <br />emplye <br />d reviews <br />workotoabeasurealin <br />re aldeductionsaandnotherncompleted <br />withholdings are <br />properly accounted for <br />Distributes employee payroll checks <br />Ensures that all corresponding reports required by the state <br />and/or fed ral government are prepared and submitted by <br />established deadlines <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />C <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />
