Chapter 605 requires that <br />local governments identify in their budgets the amount <br />they spend on health insurance benefit payments during <br />the contract or policy period. If the local government <br />makes payments for employees not covered by a collective <br />bargaining agreement, those benefits must be approved by <br />separate action of the City Council. <br />17. Rendering Aid in Emergency Situatns. Chapter 422 <br />allow; cities by resolution to allow officers and <br />designees to dispatch emergency equipment and personnel <br />outside of the local subdivision during an emergency <br />situation without authorization from the local governing <br />body. These actions are acts of the local governmental <br />unit for insurance purposes. <br />NOTE: Under the City's Civil Defense Code the City's <br />Civil Defense Director has the authority to <br />dispatch equipment under these circumstances. <br />18.
