RESOLUTION NO. 1387 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1119 <br />ESTABLISHING A VEHICLE USE POLICY <br />FOR ALL CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW VEHICLES <br />WHEREAS, the City Administrative Code establishes policies <br />relating to theā¢use of any vehicle for City business and sets <br />forth regulations and procedures for both City owned and pri- <br />vately owned vehicles operated on City business; and <br />WHEREAS, it is often necessary for City employees to have <br />City vehicles available to them in order to carry out their <br />duties and functions; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to limit the <br />use of privatley owned vehicles for City business to times when <br />a City vehicle is not available or exceptional circumstances <br />exist; and <br />WHEREAS, all City employees operating any vehicle shall do <br />so in a safe and efficient manner and shall avoid any actions <br />which may damage or otherwise impair the vehicles operation. <br />NOW; THEREFORE, Be It Resolved that the following policy <br />shall be in effect for all City employees while operating City <br />vehicles, <br />I. Assignment of City Vehicles <br />A. Only City employees whose responsibilities, duties, and <br />functions require their being subject to emergency calls <br />outside of normal working hours, shall be authorized the <br />use of a City vehicle on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. <br />B. The Clerk -Administrator may authorize other employees the <br />temporary use of City vehicles on a twenty-four (24) hour <br />iiasis during emergency conditions or at times demanding <br />unusual hours due to peak maintenance requirements. <br />C. City pool cars will be assigned to City Departments for <br />their use, however, such assignment shall not prohibit <br />the use of the vehicle by other City employees when said <br />vehicle is not required by the personnel of the assigned <br />department. <br />t <br />
