Mounds View City Council April 13, 2026 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />View City Code, Title III: Administration, 33 Related to the Parks, Recreation <br />and Forestry Commission ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director requested the Council hold the second reading and <br />adopt an Ordinance, Title III: Administration 33 related to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />Commission. He explained this Ordinance would extend the Parks, Recreation Forestry <br />Commission from seven members to nine members. It was noted that the first reading of this <br />Ordinance was held on March 23. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Clark/Meehlhause. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance <br />1061, Amending the Mounds View City Code, Title III: Administration, 33 Related to the Parks, <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission and publication of summary. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated this was the second time the Council had increased the size <br />of a Commission and he looked forward to the City bringing in new candidates that wanted to be <br />involved in the community. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Clark/Gunn/Meehlhause/Smith/Lindstrom. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />J. Resolution 10233, Approving the Purchase of (2) New Skid Steer Loaders for <br />the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve the purchase <br />of two (2) new skid steer loaders for the Public Works Department. He explained the existing units <br />were seven years old and needed replacement. Staff commented further on the purchase and noted <br />the City’s two existing units would be traded in. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom asked why the City needed two new skid steers at this time. Public Works <br />Foreman Atkinson explained these were the most used pieces of equipment by the Public Works <br />Department. He reported the City used to have the skid steers replaced on an annual basis, but this <br />program through Bobcat Monroe through Tri State came to an end, which led the City to replace <br />these units every seven years. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson clarified the <br />City was slated to replace these units every five years, but the replacement was pushed out to seven <br />years. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom requested staff speak further about the attachments that are used with the skid <br />steers. Public Works Foreman Atkinson explained the Public Works Department had a plow, <br />snowblower, brush, and track machine. He noted these machines are also used for tree removal. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom thanked Public Works Foreman Atkinson for attending this meeting and for his <br />dedicated service to the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10233, <br />Approving the Purchase of (2) New Skid Steer Loaders for the Public Works Department.
