Pg. 2 <br />prove ownership and agree to provide maintenance of the cemetery. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to request the City <br />Manager make efforts to take ownership of the did St. Anthony cemetery and to <br />indicate to the Hennepin County Historical Society the City's willingness to <br />continue maintenance of the cemetery in order that it might be designated as a <br />historical site. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to indicate to <br />Columbia Heights the City's willingness to enter into a joint power agreement <br />whereby that portion of Stinson Boulevard near Silver Lane which is owned <br />by St. Anthony, will be improved as a joint improvement project with Columbia <br />Heights. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Haik said she did not believe all the residents on Silver Lane who <br />are on the Columbia Heights water system are willing to take on the extra expense <br />of hooking up to the City water system and she and Councilman Stauffer felt it <br />should by the responsibility of Columbia Heights to inform them that Columbia <br />Heights intends to eliminate its water main connection at Silver Lane and Stinson <br />Boulevard. <br />Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to indicate to Columbia <br />Heights that the City of St. Anthony is willing to accept into our water system <br />those homes which Columbia Heights has requested be eliminated from their service. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Letter from Mr. Rosinski, principal of St. Anthony High School, discussed and <br />filed. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to enter into an <br />agreement with Ramsey County whereby the City will sweep Silver Lane, Silver Lake <br />Road and County Road D which are county roads. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />fir. Duigar's report on fire runs in the last two years for which Maintenance Dept. <br />personnel were either on alert or provided standby assistance to the Fire Dept. was <br />discussed along with the possibility of raising the amount of compensation paid <br />to the Maintenance Dept. for this service. Councilman Sauer was opposed to <br />payin, the men for the times when they did not actually go out on a fire call since <br />he f Their regular salaries should compensate them for such times and he moved <br />to deny the employees request for a raise of more than the $30.00 they now are <br />paid for such service. <br />His motion died for lack of a second. <br />Other Council members felt there might be some justification for a small raise <br />since none had been granted for the back up service for the last 7 or 8 years. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to grant an increase <br />of $4.00 per month to the Maintenance Dept. employees for their backup assistance <br />to the Fire Dept. <br />
