City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 22, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />2 WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony Village is an organization dedicated to helping the <br />3 youth of St. Anthony community educationally and spiritually; and <br />4 <br />5 WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony Village is also committed to other community <br />6 services; and <br />7 <br />8 WHEREAS, in order to raise funds for its many programs, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony <br />9 Village has requested a day be set aside in St. Anthony Village for the sale of peanuts. <br />10 <br />I 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the St. Anthony Village City Council hereby <br />12 designates FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2015 as ST. ANTHONY KIWANIS PEANUT DAY. <br />13 <br />14 Mayor Faust stated the City appreciates all the work the Kiwanis do in the community. He stated <br />15 it is always good to see new faces, which shows it is a sustainable organization that keeps <br />16 moving forward and people subscribe to the good work the Kiwanis do. Mayor Faust <br />17 congratulated the Kiwanis on their 100 -year anniversary, noting Councilmembers Jenson and <br />18 Stille are active members of the Kiwanis. The Kiwanis distributed peanuts to the <br />19 Councilmembers. The 44 years the St. Anthony Kiwanis has been doing work in the City is <br />20 excellent too. <br />21 <br />22 III. CONSENT AGENDA. <br />23 <br />24 A. Consider September 8, 2015, City Council meeting minutes; <br />25 B. Consider licenses and permits; and <br />26 C. Consider payment of claims. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Faust requested consideration of the September 8, 2015, City Council meeting minutes be <br />29 removed from the Consent Agenda and the minutes be approved at the next meeting. <br />30 <br />31 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Brever, to approve the Consent <br />32 Agenda Items B. Licenses and Permits, and C. Claims, as presented. <br />33 <br />34 Motion carried unanimously. <br />35 <br />36 IV. PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. <br />37 <br />38 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF — NONE. <br />39 <br />40 VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL <br />41 <br />42 A. Fire Prevention Presentation. Chris Fuller & Mattie Jaros St. Anthony Fire Department <br />43 presenting <br />44 <br />45 Mayor Faust welcomed Chris Fuller and Mattie Jaros, representing the St. Anthony Fire <br />46 Department. He noted they are on duty so if they need to leave quickly to do lifesaving efforts <br />47 they will be excused. Chris Fuller and Mattie Jaros provided a PowerPoint presentation on <br />48 Smoke Alarms. They provided Facts, Types of Detection, Installation, Maintenance, and Other <br />
