City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 22, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony Village is an organization dedicated to helping the 2 <br />youth of St. Anthony community educationally and spiritually; and 3 <br /> 4 <br />WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony Village is also committed to other community 5 <br />services; and 6 <br /> 7 <br />WHEREAS, in order to raise funds for its many programs, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony 8 <br />Village has requested a day be set aside in St. Anthony Village for the sale of peanuts. 9 <br /> 10 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the St. Anthony Village City Council hereby 11 <br />designates FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2015 as ST. ANTHONY KIWANIS PEANUT DAY. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Faust stated the City appreciates all the work the Kiwanis do in the community. He stated 14 <br />it is always good to see new faces, which shows it is a sustainable organization that keeps 15 <br />moving forward and people subscribe to the good work the Kiwanis do. Mayor Faust 16 <br />congratulated the Kiwanis on their 100-year anniversary, noting Councilmembers Jenson and 17 <br />Stille are active members of the Kiwanis. The Kiwanis distributed peanuts to the 18 <br />Councilmembers. The 44 years the St. Anthony Kiwanis has been doing work in the City is 19 <br />excellent too. 20 <br /> 21 <br />III. CONSENT AGENDA. 22 <br /> 23 <br />A. Consider September 8, 2015, City Council meeting minutes; 24 <br />B. Consider licenses and permits; and 25 <br />C. Consider payment of claims. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Faust requested consideration of the September 8, 2015, City Council meeting minutes be 28 <br />removed from the Consent Agenda and the minutes be approved at the next meeting. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Brever, to approve the Consent 31 <br />Agenda Items B. Licenses and Permits, and C. Claims, as presented. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Motion carried unanimously. 34 <br /> 35 <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. 36 <br /> 37 <br />V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF – NONE. 38 <br /> 39 <br />VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL 40 <br /> 41 <br />A. Fire Prevention Presentation. Chris Fuller & Mattie Jaros St. Anthony Fire Department 42 <br />presenting 43 <br /> 44 <br />Mayo r Faust welcomed Chris Fuller and Mattie Jaros, representing the St. Anthony Fire 45 <br />Department. He noted they are on duty so if they need to leave quickly to do lifesaving efforts 46 <br />they will be excused. Chris Fuller and Mattie Jaros provided a PowerPoint presentation on 47 <br />Smoke Alarms. They provided Facts, Types of Detection, Installation, Maintenance, and Other 48 <br />14
