City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 22, 2015 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />a Truck event that was held at Silver Lake Village on 39th Avenue. Along with the Fire 1 <br />Department Open House there will also be public works and police vehicles for residents of all 2 <br />ages to see some of the nice equipment the City operates with and give the younger children a 3 <br />chance to see the vehicles up close. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mr. Casey complimented Faith Methodist on their rain garden in their parking lot. They did this 6 <br />on their own without the City asking them to do it. They had excellent cooperation from various 7 <br />community members. They received funds from the MWMO and some work from the girl scouts 8 <br />and the folks from Nativity helped them. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mr. Casey noted the street project is completed for the year and he thanked residents for their 11 <br />patience during construction. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mr. Casey stated a Green Corp member started and she will be with the City for the next ten 14 <br />months. She will provide a presentation to Council. She will be out and about throughout the 15 <br />Community. Green Corp is funded through the MPCA and provides someone who has some 16 <br />sustainable or environmental college graduates to help the City advance some of the 17 <br />sustainability initiatives. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Councilmember Stille stated on September 15, Council participated in a tabletop exercise. This 20 <br />was a mock disaster with the incident being a trail derailment. It was a practice and was covered 21 <br />by all departments of the City. Ramsey County helped guide through that particular mock event. 22 <br />It was a good learning experience. It is good to be prepared in the event something happens, but 23 <br />hope it never does. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Councilmember Stille stated on September 19, he attended Mississippi Water Management 26 <br />Organization Open House at their new facility on Marshall and Lowry. The facility was designed 27 <br />to filter water and provide demonstrations on how water is filtered. It is also a national park. He 28 <br />encouraged residents to visit the facility. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Councilmember Gray stated he also attended the tabletop exercise. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Councilmember Brever stated she attended the tabletop exercise and a Park Commission 33 <br />Meeting on September 14 where the Commissioners heard a report on the bike paths. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated on September 10, he attended the Community Services Advisory 36 <br />Committee Meeting. This was the first meeting for the new school year 2015 – 2016 and they 37 <br />discussed plans for the upcoming year. The Committee will be expanding their capability of 38 <br />communicating to residents who no longer have children in school. That is a new service to be 39 <br />provided. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated on September 16, the St. Anthony History Committee sold 600 42 <br />copies of the history book. There are 72 of the World War II books remaining of the original 43 <br />250 copies. 44 <br /> 45 <br /> 46 <br />Mayor Faust stated on September 14 was the Regional Council of Mayors Meeting. There was a 47 <br />presentation by Joe Minicozzi from North Carolina who spoke about development and how to 48 <br />16
