3. Actions detrimental to the reputation of the Reserve Unit, Police <br /> • Department or the City. <br /> 4 . Violation of a criminal law. <br /> 5 . Insubordination to the rank or request of a commanding Reserve <br /> or regualr Police Officer, or to a City Official, when a.. super- <br /> visory officer is not present or when not under the work direc- <br /> tionof a supervisory officer. <br /> 6 . Disrespectful or profane language; or public criticisms of the <br /> Department. <br /> 1 <br /> 7.- Misuse or abuse of position. <br /> 8. Sleeping or other eveidence of inefficient performance while on <br /> duty, such as loafing , recreational reading, conducting private_ <br /> business or gambling. <br /> 9. Release of information to the public, except as authorized by a <br /> police supervisor, of a confidential nature, including informants, <br /> witnesses , and investigation, reports. <br /> 10 . The soliciting or accepting of any gratuity. <br /> 11. Recommending any attorney or bail bond broker or acting as a <br /> bailor, except relatives. <br /> 12. Identifying themselves as Police_ Officers or Peace Officers in j <br /> any way. <br /> Article VI - Discipline: <br /> A person who is guilty of a conduct violation as contained in Article <br /> VI - Conduct, or non-performance as contained in Article IX - Perform- <br /> ance, . shall be subject to disciplinary action under this Article. <br /> 1. The Chief of Police may suspend, demote, or terminate any Reserve <br /> Officer guilty of a. conduct rules violation, after weighing the <br /> severity of the violation, the Officer' s past performance and the <br /> attitude of the Officer. Any action so taken shall be expressed . <br /> in writing. = � <br /> 2 . The Reserve Officer may appeal the action of the Chief of Police <br /> to the City Manager within ten days of the Chief' s written action. <br /> The City Manager shall express his/her action in writing. <br /> 3. Within ten days after receiving the City Manager's written response, <br /> an Officer may appeal the action to the City Council. <br /> 4 . The City Council shall issue a ruling on the violation and <br /> disciplinary action taken which shall be binding and final. <br /> Article VII - Use of Firearms: <br /> The carrying and use of firearms is expressly prohibited, except as, <br /> follows : <br />
