In response
7 to these inadequacies , the YSB will set up a program of position
8 descriptions so board members will know exactly what is expected of
9 them.
10 Councilmember Marks indicated he expected to be on jury duty for
11 several more weeks.
12 DEPARTMENTS AND COMMITTEES
13 Before the Hance & LeVahn report on cases they had prosecuted at
14 Hennepin County District Court on January 6th was ordered filed,
15 Councilmember Marks commented he was glad to see the Court require
16 at least some payment of the City' s costs.
17 CITY MANAGER REPORTS
18 January 22 , 1988 Staff Meeting Notes
4w19 *During the consideration of the 1988 goals adopted by the Fire
0 Department, Mr. Childs indicated the proposed $7, 500 expenditure
21 for an' air compressor to replenish the oxygen in the Department' s
22 air masks and resuscitators would have to be considered in some
23 future budget session.
24 *In reference to the Police Chief Hickerson' s observations related
25 to the school -district' s deferring maintenance items in antici-
26 pation of the potential transfer of Parkview' s ownership, the
27 Manager indicated staff was documenting all deferred items which
28 would have to be taken care of before the City would take over the
29 building.
30 *Mr. Nelson' s recommendations related to a joint grand opening for
31 the new Stonehouse restaurant and liquor warehouse operations were
32 explored briefly with arguments made for more exposure through
33 several events. Mr. Childs indicated he would relay these concerns
34 to the Liquor Manager who he was certain would be open to any
35 Council suggestions. Councilmember Enrooth suggested restaurant
36 and liquor store patrons might have to compete for the same parking
37 spaces when both operations are running at full capacity.
