Their <br /> ideas are becoming reality, ideas like: <br /> • A statewide photo contest sponsored by the 3M Company and Target Stores <br /> • Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 Calendars listing the events of communities and <br /> organizations <br /> • Special highway signs at the entrances of Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 member <br /> communities to let people know that here is an exciting place to visit <br /> • A catalogue of nearly 50 items like flags, street banners and other items that can be <br /> used to decorate communities and events .. items that can be purchased wholesale by <br /> Celebrate members and either resold at retail to earn funds to support local projects or <br /> celebrations, or be given away <br /> • There will be exciting activities from new events like a jazz Festival to established <br /> favorites like the Saint Paul Winter Carnival providing a 1990 flavor from January to <br /> December <br /> There will be special placemats showcasing Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 events, projects <br /> and festivals to distribute to hotels, restaurants and organizations <br /> Of course, we at Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 are busy working to tell the entire nation about <br /> all of the excitement that will be happening in Minnesota in 1990. Radio, television and <br /> the print media are all joining the celebration team: <br /> • The Minnesota News Network has 65 radio stations across Minnesota who will <br /> devote 40% of two special programs - Hats Off Minnesota, and Minnesota Outdoors - to <br /> discuss Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 events and activities. Listen for their live remotes <br /> talking to local people involved in Celebrate events. MNN reaches over one million <br /> people every week. <br /> • United Telephone System will feature Celebrate events and activities in a series of <br /> specially produced bill inserts, and telephone directory covers <br /> • WCCO radio will include Celebrate event announcements on a daily basis on the <br /> Boone and Erickson show – that's 650,000 listeners weekly <br /> • The Minnesota Vikings are including scoreboard announcements on Celebrate during <br /> each of their home games throughout the 1989-90 football season <br /> • The Minnesota Office of Tourism plans a major effort to feature Celebrate MINNESOTA <br /> 1990 in its official publication - The Explorer - with a special mailing to 1.5 million <br /> households in Minnesota. They will also promote Celebrate through radio, tv and <br /> other print media normally used to market Minnesota <br /> • State Agencies have added the Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 logo to stationery, <br /> envelopes, promotional materials, newsletters,-and other publications. They are also <br /> placing articles about Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 in their internal/external <br /> publications, and plan a major promotional effort at the 1990 Minnesota State Fair. <br /> We invite you to join us in Celebrate MINNESOTA 1990 — an activity that will leave a legacy <br /> of lasting value for Minnesota.
