MINUTES
NORTH SUBURBAN CABLE COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER .5, 1989
PAGE 7
they needed for this fall. There were several concerns on the part of
the schools that the system and the switching and the configuration at
the company may not work well for putting the interaction for the schools
on line. He went on to state that as part of the agreement the company
stated that they would in fact have a person available to correct any
fault in the. system when it is turned on to activate the interaction. He
stated that the test failed in the sense that there was an audio problem
and when the telephone call was made to correct the audio problem there
was no one there to do so. After the test communication was re-established
the problem was corrected. Since that time there has been further testing
and there has not been a problem. Mr. Matson stated that his concern
was that there had been a very lengthy process to make very sure that it
would work the first time.
Ms. Donnelly-Cohen responded that since that testing occurred, she had
spoken with Wayne Powers and that one of the things that was established
at the meetings was that the request for scheduling be in writing. Mr.
Powers agreed and since that time every test that has been done, someone
has been there and if a problem arises it is solved immediately.
Mr. Creighton stated that he had an informational item to discuss before
the meeting was adjourned. He stated that at the last commission meeting
an Attorney General's opinion regarding the .telephonic meetings was
requested. Mr. Creighton stated that he had written a letter dated October
3, 1989 to Mr. Ken Raschke. The Attorney General's office charges $23.00
an hour for their attorney's work. Therefore, the commission will be
billed for the work that is done.
X.
