• City of Saint Anthony Housing Maintenance Ordinance <br /> Draft Number 5 -- September 2, 1992 <br /> Page Number 5 <br /> 1 24. Refuse - all putrescible and nonputrescible waste solids including garbage and <br /> 2 rubbish. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 25. Rental dwelling or dwelling unit - a dwelling or dwelling unit let for rent or <br /> 5 lease. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 26. Repair.- to restore to a sound and acceptable state of operation, serviceability <br /> 8 or appearance. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 27. Rodent harborage - any place where rodents can live, nest, or seek shelter. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 28. Rooming unit - any room or group of rooms forming a single habitable unit <br /> 13 used or intended to be used for living and sleeping, but not for cooking and <br /> 14 eating purposes. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 29. Safety - the condition of being reasonably free from danger and hazards which <br /> 17 may cause accidents or disease. <br /> 18 <br /> 09 . 30. Substandard dwelling - any dwelling which does not conform to the minimum <br /> 20 standards established by City Ordinance. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 31. Supplied - paid for, furnished by, provided by or under the control of the <br /> 23 owner, operator, or agent of a dwelling. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 32. Meaning of certain words - whenever the words "dwelling", "dwelling unit", <br /> 26 "premises", or "structure" are used in this ordinance, they shall be construed <br /> 27 as though they were followed by the words "or any part thereof'. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 33. Undefined Words - Words not specifically defined in this ordinance shall have <br /> 30 the common definition set forth in a standard unabridged dictionary. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 SECTION 2. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 RESPONSIBILITIES OF OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS. No owner or other person shall <br /> 35 occupy or let to another person any dwelling, dwelling unit or rooming unit unless it and the <br /> 36 premises are clean, sanitary, fit for human occupancy, and comply with all applicable legal <br /> 37 requirements of the State of Minnesota and the City of Saint Anthony, including the <br /> 38 following requirements: <br /> 39 <br /> 40 MAINTENANCE OF SHARED OR PUBLIC AREAS. Every owner of a dwelling <br /> *I containing two or more dwelling units shall maintain in a clean and sanitary condition the <br /> 42 shared or public areas of the dwelling and premises thereof. <br />
