City of Saint Anthony Housing Maintenance Ordinance <br /> Draft Number 1 -- November 10, 1991 <br /> Page Number 16 <br /> 1 the prospective owner or designated agent has filed on forms supplied by the City, a <br /> 2 statement of intent to comply with the housing maintenance code. Compliance dates in the <br /> 3 statement of intent to comply shall be established by the City Manager. Failure to make the <br /> 4 required corrections by the compliance dates shall constitute a violation of this code and <br /> 5 shall render void any approval given pursuant to this section. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 ADDITIONAL INSPECTIONS. If following the issuance of a certificate, the City finds by <br /> 8 complaint or otherwise that the structure may be maintained in'a substandard manner, a <br /> 9 new inspection will be required in order to satisfy the requirements of this section. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 NO WARRANTY BY CITY. By enacting and undertaking to enforce this subsection, <br /> 12 neither the City nor its council, agents or employers warrant or guarantee the safety, fitness <br /> 13 or suitability of any dwelling in the City, and any representation to the contrary by any <br /> 14 person is a misdemeanor. Purchasers or occupants should take whatever steps they deem <br /> 15 appropriate to protect their interests, health, safety and welfare prior to purchase or <br /> 16 occupancy of the dwelling,without reliance on this certificate. A warning in substantially the <br /> 17 foregoing language shall be printed on the face of the certificate. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 REMEDIES. Any person who violates the provisions of this section, or who makes <br /> 20 a knowingly false statement in the application, is guilty of a misdemeanor. In addition, the <br /> 21 City may enforce the provisions of this section in any court of competent jurisdiction in law <br /> 22 or equity. <br />
