If a light rail transit system is funded for construction through Columbia Heights, the City will study the station areas to determine whether or not there should be changes in land use nearby and also to consider public improvements, such as street realignment, street closings, or sidewalks, that would promote the use of the system. 6. The City will publicize the expected location of the three LRT stations in its community in order to promote the use of this new travel mode and also to make the general public more aware of the easy access Columbia Heights will enjoy to and from the central city. 7. The City will work with the Metropolitan Transit Commission to create new or improved bus waiting stations along new cross-town routes that would serve the planned L•RT system. 8.
